According to a report by Spanish outlet Defensa Central, Sergej Milinkovic-Savic is clear about his next destination. The Lazio midfielder is pushing to join Real Madrid if he leaves the Serie A club in the summer transfer window.
Sergej Milinkovic-Savic has established himself as one of the best midfielders in Serie A since joining Lazio. The 27-year-old has been with the Italian club for nearly eight years while going from strength to strength at Stadio Olimpico. At the same time, he is a pivotal figure for the Serbian national side.
The Serb is enjoying a solid 2022/23 season, chipping in with six goals and eight assists in 28 appearances thus far. Meanwhile, Milinkovic-Savic is one of the most highly-valued Serie A players, with his market value standing at €60 million. But the player is keen on embarking on a new adventure, with Real Madrid his preferred destination.
Real Madrid will likely delve into the market for a new midfielder in the summer transfer window. While Dani Ceballos has resurrected his fortunes at the Santiago Bernabeu, Luka Modric and Toni Kroos’s futures are not set in stone.
