Everton suffer another blow as Sean Dyche’s team are set to miss out on 33-year-old striker Andre Ayew.

Relegation-threatened Everton are set to miss out on another striker. The Merseyside club have been in the market to acquire a striker for a while now. But, they haven’t been able to get the job done. They had an opportunity even after the end of the window but it seems like they missed it. According to a report by 90min, Everton target Andre Ayew is all set to join Nottingham Forest.

Nottingham are on the verge of securing a deal for free-agent striker Andre Ayew. And, Everton are all set to miss out on yet another signing. The 33-year-old forward has played for Swansea and West Ham in the Premier League.

He recently left Al-Sadd, the Qatari club and is currently a free agent. And, the usual transfer rules do not apply to him because of his unattached status. According to 90min, the 33-year-old has arrived in England to hold talks with several clubs. At present Nottingham Forest are leading the race to acquire his services.

Throughout his career, Andre Ayew has played in France as well as England. He has made over 527 appearances in his career and has been directly involved in 211 goals. He has scored 153 goals and created the remaining 58. Ayew has over 180 Ligue 1 and 89 Premier League appearances in his career.

He has been a great servant for Olympique de Marseille in France and Swansea City in England. The 33-year-old has played all over the pitch in his career. Whichever team he joins one thing is for sure he will add a lot of experience and more importantly, goals.

Everton have already missed out on quite a few players in the January window. The new boss, Sean Dyche has no new arrivals to work with. The Toffees have failed to sign numerous targets. They wanted to acquire Viktor Gyökeres from Coventry, Che Adams from Southampton, and Conor Gallagher from Chelsea. But, they failed to land any of them in the winter window.

Anthony Gordon’s departure left a void in attack and a striker was their top priority. The window is now over and they were hoping somehow recover the damage by signing Andre Ayew but even that looks like a distant dream.

While Nottingham leads the race, West Ham, Bournemouth, and Crystal Palace are also interested in signing the Ghanaian forward. According to the reports, Ayew wants to work with Steve Cooper. He has a deal on the table for six months and it will be interesting to see if and when he signs it.
