Everton are reportedly interested in signing multi-time UEFA Champions League-winning Spanish playmaker Isco on a free transfer.

According to a report from The Times, Everton are still looking to strengthen their squad even after the conclusion of the January transfer window. The Toffees are now looking at potential free agents to add to their squad. And five-time Champions League winner Isco has popped up on their radar.

The experienced midfielder terminated his contract with Sevilla earlier this season, and he was expected to join Bundesliga club Union Berlin on deadline day. However, the move did not work out, and the player is now searching for a new opportunity. It will be interesting to see if Everton can secure his services in the next few days.

Isco has proven his quality at the highest level with Real Madrid, and he has won multiple league titles and Champions League trophies during his time at the Spanish club. However, he has not been at his best for several months now. And it will be interesting to see if Everton are willing to gamble on him.

The Spaniard has the technical ability to make a big difference in the final third. But he is clearly lacking in form and confidence right now. There is no doubt that the five-time Champions League winner would be an underwhelming addition to Everton right now.

The Toffees were the only club who failed to bring in a single addition during the January transfer window. And given their position in the league table, it was incompetence of the highest order. The Everton board have clearly let down newly-appointed manager Sean Dyche. And it will be interesting to see if he can guide them to safety despite the adversities.

Everton are currently 19th in the league table, and their attack has been a major concern this season. Having scored just 15 goals all season, they need to reinforce their attacking unit. Someone like Isco will certainly add more creativity and vision in the final third. But Everton still need someone who can finish off the chances and find the back of the net consistently.

Players like Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Neal Maupay have not been able to perform at a high level this season. Everton need to bring in a goalscorer as well, and they are thought to be looking at Andre Ayew.
