Chelsea are already planning for the summer window as they plot a move for Moises Caicedo, with Brighton likely to open their doors.

According to football.london, Chelsea are already planning a summer move for Moises Caicedo after missing out on the 21-year-old in January. The Blues will have many rivals in the hunt for the Brighton midfielder, but they might be confident of sealing a move.

It’s only been over six months since Todd Boehly took over as Chelsea’s co-controlling owner, and he has already made a significant mark on the club. The Blues embarked on a spending spree in the summer and continued it in a big way during the January window.

Chelsea signed a host of players to strengthen their squad and spent €100 million each or more on at least two separate stars. Mykhaylo Mudryk and deadline day arrival Enzo Fernandez were the star arrivals in this window for the Blues, but they might be already planning another splash for the next window.

The report suggests Chelsea are plotting a big move for January target Moises Caicedo after failing to sign the 21-year-old last month. The midfielder was a big target for Todd Boehly, who considered the Brighton star an excellent asset for his exciting project at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea were the first to make a £55 million bid for the Ecuadorian midfielder. Brighton swiftly rejected their offer and insisted the player was not for sale in this window.

Arsenal followed suit and made at least two bids for the 21-year-old midfielder. Brighton rejected both those approaches, with the last one being in the range of £70 million, including add-ons. The Seagulls stood by their stance of not wanting to sell the player at this stage of the season and eventually kept hold of him.

Chelsea are now plotting a move for the 21-year-old midfielder in the summer. Brighton could be more receptive to offers in the next window as they usually are. Arsenal is also expected to battle Chelsea for Caicedo, who promises to become one of the big signings of the next market.

The London clubs are also in the race for star midfielder Declan Rice, although the West Ham star may prefer a move to Arsenal, particularly if Chelsea fails to make the Champions League next season. Hence, the summer window promises plenty of transfer battles, particularly for Caicedo.
