Real Madrid have no intention of watching Eduardo Camavinga leave after rejecting approaches from Arsenal and Chelsea.
According to Defensa Central, Eduardo Camavinga is set to stay with Real Madrid, who have rejected multiple approaches for the midfielder. The European champions have rebuffed Arsenal, Chelsea and Bayern Munich, who attempted to sign the Frenchman in January.
Eduardo Camavinga burst onto the footballing scene during his teenage years with Rennes. Following some impressive displays for the French outfit, many top-level clubs, including those from the Premier League, were interested in signing him.
Several clubs tried to bring him, with Rennes even quoting prices of around €100 million for the prodigious talent. With one year left on his deal, Real Madrid signed the promising midfielder from the Ligue 1 club for a reasonable sum.
Camavinga has yet to force his way into the starting lineups, but he made a huge impression in Real Madrid’s UEFA Champions League-winning run last season. The promising midfielder made a few game-changing cameos in the knockout stages, notably against Manchester City.
He is a highly-rated talent in the corridors of Real Madrid, and manager Carlo Ancelotti has total faith in the midfielder. Yet, during January, at least two Premier League giants have attempted to broker a deal for Camavinga.
Arsenal and Chelsea have approached Real Madrid for the midfielder. But Los Blancos swiftly rebuffed any possibility of the Frenchman leaving the club as they consider him important. The Gunners were keen to sign him on loan to shore up their midfield ahead of a title challenge.
After knowing Real Madrid’s intentions, Arsenal have since moved on to other targets. They recently made a £60 million bid for Moises Caicedo, but Brighton want to keep the player and rejected the proposal.
Similarly, Chelsea are in the market for a new central midfielder. They may not have considered Camavinga as a prominent target and may have just tried their luck. The Blues are also chasing Caicedo this month and rival Arsenal for the Ecuadorian international. Meanwhile, Bayern Munich have also failed with an approach for the Frenchman.
As for Camavinga, Real Madrid have no plans to part ways with the promising midfielder. They could build future teams around the youngster and his compatriot Aurelien Tchouameni. For now, the 20-year-old is considered untouchable. And a move to the Premier League seems unlikely in the near future.
