Crystal Palace will soon secure the services of 17-year-old Scottish midfield sensation Dylan Reid from St. Mirren.

According to a report by Football Insider, Dylan Reid is the subject of interest from Crystal Palace. And the 17-year-old Scottish midfield sensation is on the verge of joining the London club this month. The Eagles have already reached an agreement with St. Mirren while having the personal terms sorted.

Dylan Reid is one of the brightest young prospects in his homeland, going from strength to strength at St. Mirren. The teenage prodigy has been with the Scottish outfit since he was five years old. And after rapidly rising through the ranks at the club, he made his first-team debut nearly two years ago.

The 17-year-old is the youngest player in Scottish Premiership history at 16 years, and five days of age. And Reid has turned out eight times thus far for the St. Mirren first team. The player’s progress and potential have not gone unnoticed either, with Crystal Palace being one of his prospective suitors.

Crystal Palace invested in a holding midfielder in the summer transfer window by landing Cheick Doucoure. But they might need to dip their toes in the market again for such a player. That is because Luka Milivojevic is not the player he once was, while James McArthur is no spring chicken.

So it behoves Crystal Palace to delve into the market for a defensive midfielder. And they must sign a player who can be a long-term solution in the middle of the park. Several midfielders have thus popped up on Crystal Palace’s radar, including Naouirou Ahamada. But Dylan Reid is also a viable target for the south London club.

It looks like the 17-year-old Scottish midfield sensation will join Crystal Palace instead of any other midfielder. And according to Football Insider, the Eagles have reached an agreement with St. Mirren over a deal for Reid. And personal terms are also sorted, meaning a January move is on the horizon.

The Londoners are putting the finishing touches on the deal to sign Reid. And it seems the 17-year-old Scottish midfield sensation will arrive at Selhurst Park soon. And after the recent progress of Tyrick Mitchell, Eberechi Eze, and Michael Olise, the teenager will be excited about joining Crystal Palace.
