Crystal Palace have reportedly their move to land 23-year-old Bristol City striker Antoine Semenyo this month.

According to Daily Mail, Premier League club Crystal Palace are set to make their move for 23-year-old Bristol City striker Antoine Semenyo in the final days of the 2023 January transfer window.

The 23-year-old came through the ranks at Ashton Gate and made his first-team bow for the Robins in 2018. He has since made 124 appearances for the club, scoring 20 goals and assisting 22 more.

Capable of playing anywhere along the frontline, Semenyo is a versatile attacker who can fit in well playing the modern game. A good dribbler with an eye for a pass, the 23-year-old has excellent awareness concerning attacking movement and often finds himself in good positions.

While there are still chinks to be ironed out in his armour, Semenyo is already attracting attention from Premier League clubs. Bournemouth failed with a £10 million bid for the attacker, and now Crystal Palace are ready to make their move.

Patrick Vieira’s side are promising but lack a reliable focal point in attack. Odsonne Edouard has flattered to deceive, and the club is largely reliant on Wilfried Zaha to not just score goals but also craft opportunities. The Ivory Coast international is likely to leave the club amid interest from Barcelona and other top clubs. And Crystal Palace must rebuild their attacker.

Semenyo is a full international for Ghana and has one goal in six appearances for them. His contract with Bristol City is up next summer. And Crystal Palace could land a promising young talent for free should they play their cards right.

Vieira’s side have raided the lower leagues in the past, with Eberechi Eze and Michael Olise arriving from Queen Parks Rangers and Reading, respectively. Both players have settled in well at Selhurst Park, and Semenyo could join their ranks.

Crystal Palace are unlikely to have a free run at the Ghanaian international, with Southampton and Bournemouth also in the fray. Vieira’s side are young and promising and could be on the verge of building a solid side ready to assault the top six.

Should Semenyo turn into the infallible goalscorer the club seeks, there is every reason for them to go all out and reach an agreement to sign him at the next given opportunity. But the latest reports suggest the 23-year-old striker is closing in on joining Bournemouth.
