Chelsea and Barcelona have reportedly submitted enquiries for 24-year-old Spanish international Dani Olmo.

According to a report from Fichajes, Chelsea and Barcelona have made an enquiry for 24-year-old Spanish international Dani Olmo. The player might leave RB Leipzig this year.

Olmo has been a key player for the German club, and he was impressive for his country at the 2022 FIFA World Cup as well. It will be interesting to see if Chelsea and Barcelona decide to follow up on their enquiry with a concrete proposal in the next few days.

There is no doubt that Olmo has the quality to play for a top club. He could improve Chelsea and Barcelona in the final third. The 24-year-old Spanish international would add goals and creativity to both sides.

He has four goals and six assists to his name across all competitions, and could be tempted to join a top European club this month. And he has recently emerged as a target for several high-profile clubs, including Chelsea. And the Blues and Barcelona have submitted enquiries for the player.

Apparently, the 24-year-old midfielder has a clause in his contract that allows him to join a Spanish club for €60 million. However, other European teams would have to shell out a figure of around €70-€75 million to sign the player. It remains to be seen how the situation develops.

The 24-year-old midfielder is yet to reach his peak and is likely to improve further with coaching and experience. The Spanish international can operate as a central attacking midfielder as well as a winger. His versatility will be an added bonus for any club he joins.

Barcelona could certainly use a player like him in the midfield, and it remains to be seen whether they can reunite the RB Leipzig playmaker with his international teammates Pedri and Gavi in the middle of the park.

As for Chelsea, they are expected to part ways with Hakim Ziyech amid links with AS Roma. In addition, Christian Pulisic also faces an uncertain future at Stamford Bridge. It remains to be seen whether the Blues are prepared to bring Olmo in as a potential replacement for the two players.

The 24-year-old will be seeking regular game-time assurances before changing clubs. And it will be interesting to see if Chelsea can provide him with regular first-team action, especially after signing players like Noni Madueke, Mykhaylo Mudryk and Joao Felix this month.
