Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Moises Caicedo would be willing to join Chelsea if a firm offer comes through for him.

As per journalist Simon Phillips, Moises Caicedo would love to join Graham Potter at Chelsea if he is given a chance. The midfielder has been rated pretty highly in the Premier League.

Chelsea have been on a signing spree as the Blues have brought in a total of 14 players since summer splashing close to £450 million. Co-owner Todd Boehly has been bankrolling the big bucks in a bid to restore the lost glory at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea’s recent performances haven’t been up to the mark and a midfielder has long been on their priority list as things stand. They are set to lose both N’Golo Kante and Jorginho in the summer and Potter needs to freshen up their midfield to some extent.

Caicedo has been one of the most hard-working young midfielders in the top flight and has attracted a lot of attention. The Ecuadorian further laid a marker with his effective performance in the World Cup which further elevated his stock.

Chelsea recently had a £55 million bid rejected for the midfielder as Brighton sees him as an untouchable asset. The Seagulls have a fixed price tag for their midfield powerhouse and will only entertain if an interested party reaches that valuation.

Simon Phillips insisted Caicedo would be delighted to work with Potter at Chelsea again.

“In terms of Caicedo, Potter obviously knows him and loves him. He would love to have him at the club and would love to bring him to Chelsea.

“Caicedo, it goes without saying, he would jump at a move to Chelsea. It’s just whether Brighton are going to fold on their terms and valuation at the moment.”

But getting him won’t be that easy as Brighton will refuse to budge on the asking price as they often do with their prized assets. They sold Marc Cucurella for a definite price and would look to do the same for Caicedo.

Meanwhile, Chelsea need to keep a check on their spending as it could affect the Financial Fair Play rules.
