Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta could add former academy graduate and Bournemouth winger Jaidon Anthony this month.

According to Daily Mail, Arsenal will continue to push for more signings before the transfer window shuts, with Jaidon Anthony their latest target. The Bournemouth winger is winding down his contract at the Vitality Stadium and could become tempted to move.

Mikel Arteta and Edu Gaspar are seriously considering strengthening the Arsenal squad before the January transfer window shuts down. The Arsenal manager needs players to add quality depth, particularly in the wide-attacking areas and central midfield.

After losing out on Mykhaylo Mudryk, who joined Chelsea, Arsenal swiftly agreed on a move for Leandro Trossard with Brighton & Hove Albion. The Belgian international will improve their attacking unit, but Arteta is not about to rule out more incomings.

Trossard can play in all three frontline positions. But Arteta might need another wide attacker in the ranks to add more quality. Reiss Nelson has not proven his worth despite some promising displays this term. In addition, his injury problems have left the Gunners short on the substitutes bench.

Bournemouth’s Jaidon Anthony has emerged on their radar. Arteta reportedly sees the untapped potential in the winger. He is primarily a left winger and knows the club owing to the ten years spent at Arsenal’s Hale End academy.

The 23-year-old English winger was instrumental in Bournemouth’s promotion last season from the Championship. Incidentally, he made his Premier League debut against Arsenal in August but has endured a tough time being a bench player.

Anthony has scored thrice in all competitions and showing promising signs of improvement. Bournemouth do not look overly concerned with his situation despite his contract winding up in six months. He will become a free agent in the summer, but Arsenal might tempt him over a move this month.

The youngster could be open to re-joining his old side, and Arteta could look to develop him into a bright winger in the coming seasons. There are talks in the media over a possible move, but nothing is at an advanced stage yet.

Anthony could add some valuable squad depth in a problematic area for the Gunners in a season they might win the title. The 23-year-old English winger will compete with Gabriel Martinelli and Emile Smith Rowe if he joins Arsenal. He could look to develop at the Emirates in the years to come.
