Brighton have rejected a verbal offer from Tottenham for Leandro Trossard worth £12 million, with the forward keen to leave.

According to David Ornstein of The Athletic, Tottenham’s verbal offer of £12 million for Leandro Trossard got rejected by Brighton. The future of the 28-year-old attacker remains uncertain, with his agent even requesting the club to help with a transfer away.

The relationship between Leandro Trossard and manager Roberto De Zerbi is on the brink of a collapse after a recent fallout. After walking out of a training session, the Brighton boss was unhappy with the 28-year-old attacker’s attitude.

He subsequently got dropped for the win over Liverpool, and his agent has made the problem public with a plea to leave Brighton. He has asked the club to help with a transfer away, but things are still complicated for the player. Trossard is in the final six months of his original deal, but the Seagulls can extend it by another season.

Arsenal got offered the chance to sign him, and there is a feeling some of the other top clubs remain uninterested in signing him. The 28-year-old attacker will undoubtedly want a move to a club potentially in the Champions League, but the options are narrow now.

Chelsea were also linked previously due to the presence of former Brighton boss Graham Potter. They have since signed Mykhaylo Mudryk, and there is no chance for another arrival in the position, particularly Trossard. Spurs remain the only other significant option keen to know more about Brighton’s demands.

As per David Ornstein, Brighton have rejected a verbal offer worth £12 million from Tottenham. The same got reported earlier as there were whispers Spurs had made such a proposal. Antonio Conte remains keen to add a new attacker that is effective in the final third.

Tottenham have struggled since the restart, as the manager feels the need to invest in the right areas. They might look to make another approach for Trossard in the coming days. Much will depend on Brighton and whether they want to lose a key player mid-season.

Trossard is an experienced player and is having a good season under his belt at Brighton. He has scored plenty of goals for the Seagulls, including a hattrick at Anfield earlier in the campaign. The 28-year-old attacker will improve Tottenham’s current plight as Conte seeks personnel to help them get a grip on the top-four race.
