Leandro Trossard was reportedly offered to Arsenal this month after the player publicly stated his desire to leave Brighton.

According to The Independent, Arsenal can sign Leandro Trossard, with Mikel Arteta still in the market for a new attacker. The Belgian international might come under consideration after the Gunners missed out on top target Mykhaylo Mudryk, who has joined Chelsea.

The January transfer window is halfway through its course, and there is plenty of work to do from Arsenal’s perspective. Mikel Arteta remains keen on adding players that would improve the current setup and aid their title push.

After their win over bitter rivals Tottenham away from home, Arsenal went eight points clear at the top. The starting eleven have performed admirably this season. But there is a glaring need for quality depth in the attacking department. With Gabriel Jesus injured and Emile Smith Rowe only now back from injury, the Gunners lack support off the bench.

The need has become desperate after losing out on Mykhaylo Mudryk, despite chasing the winger for a considerable period. Chelsea reached an agreement with Shakhtar Donetsk and even managed to double his wages from what the Gunners were offering.

They have explored other targets like Raphinha. But the Brazilian is set to stay in Barcelona and fight for his place. Meanwhile, Leandro Trossard has been offered to Arsenal to get him out of Brighton. The 28-year-old Belgian international is desperate to leave the club after falling out with manager Roberto De Zerbi.

Tottenham are also expected in the race. But if Arsenal make an approach, it may open a great opportunity for the 28-year-old Belgian international. So far, he has had a good season with the Seagulls, scoring seven goals, including a hat-trick at Anfield.

Brighton have already rejected a verbal offer from Tottenham, which may give Arsenal an idea of what he might end up costing. Trossard is winding down his contract, which ends in the summer. The Seagulls reportedly have the option to extend it by another season.

With Arsenal needing a wide attacker, Trossard could prove a good addition. But much will depend on whether Arteta sees him as an ideal signing. The Belgian has tremendous experience playing in the Premier League. The Gunners have recently preferred to bring in players of a younger profile, so a move for the Brighton star remains in question.
