Tottenham Hotspur have joined Everton and Aston Villa in the race to sign Arnaut Danjuma from La Liga club Villarreal.
According to Daily Mail, Tottenham are hoping to sign Arnaut Danjuma this month. And the north Londoners will face competition from Everton and Aston Villa for the 25-year-old.
Danjuma has been a key player for Villarreal since joining the club from Bournemouth back in 2021. But he has had some problems with his teammates this season and could be shown the door this month.
Apparently, the player is available on loan, and it remains to be seen whether Tottenham can sign him. The north Londoners could definitely use more depth in the final third, and the Dutchman would be a superb addition.
Danjuma has six goals across all competitions this season and he would be a superb utility player for Antonio Conte. The 25-year-old managed to score 16 goals across all competitions for La Liga giants Villarreal last season.
Tottenham signed Richarlison to improve their attack in the summer, and the Brazilian has done reasonably well. But he has had some injury issues, and Conte needs more options at his disposal. Furthermore, Bryan Gil has been linked with a move away from Tottenham, and the north Londoners cannot afford to weaken their squad without bringing in alternatives.
Danjuma is a proven performer at a high level. And signing him on a loan deal will be a masterstroke. It will leave funds for Tottenham to strengthen the other areas of their squad as well. They have been linked with the Sporting CP defender Pedro Porro, who would cost €45 million this month.
Meanwhile, Danjuma has worked with the Aston Villa manager Unai Emery during their time together at Villarreal. And a reunion could be tempting for both parties amid interest from the VIllans. Villa need to add more quality in the final third, and Danjuma would be a handy option for the West Midlands club.
As for Everton, the Toffees desperately need an offensive reinforcement to get their season back on track. But Tottenham are certainly a better side with a more ambitious project. They can also offer Champions League football to the 25-year-old this season. That could give them an edge over Everton and Aston Villa this month.
