Manchester United are no more interested in Nelson Semedo, as Aaron Wan-Bissaka is set to stay at Old Trafford this month.

As reported by Daily Mail, Manchester United are unlikely to execute their interest in Portuguese right-back Nelson Semedo in January as Aaron Wan-Bissaka will not depart the club as things stand.

Manchester United have been looking for a backup option to Diogo Dalot, who has started the season on the forefront. The Portuguese international has been the preferred choice for Erik ten Hag, and Wan-Bissaka was not involved until Dalot sustained an injury recently.

The 25-year-old right-back has been reborn, as he has emerged to be a central figure pretty recently. Wan-Bissaka has played five games following the conclusion of the 2022 FIFA World Cup and has provided a major selection headache to the manager. So he has enjoyed a complete 180 in his fortunes, as Manchester United were once considering selling him.

The Red Devils have been linked with several right-backs, including Nelson Semedo. But given the current scenario, they will not dive for another player in the same position. Their transfer budget is tight following a heavy summer outlay. And they also announced the signing of Wout Weghorst on a loan deal for the remainder of the season.

With a busy season ahead, Erik ten Hag will not sanction the sale of the 25-year-old, who has shown signs of recovery. The Manchester United manager seems to be impressed with his attitude and work rate. And unless a lucrative offer arrives, he will keep Wan-Bissaka at his disposal.

Meanwhile, Semedo was seen as a possible replacement as the Portuguese right-back tends to be a perfect fit in ten Hag’s system. Semedo’s current contract will expire at the end of the season. although Wolves have the option to trigger an extension they would love to cash in on the player.

Manchester United brought in Wan-Bissaka from Crystal Palace for a move worth £50 million. And the Eagles have been contemplating a move for their former player. But with time running out, Manchester United will not listen to any offers. And Wan-Bissaka will be indulged in a healthy competition for the remainder of the season as it stands.
