Crystal Palace and West Ham United are eyeing a January move for Manchester United right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

Fabrizio Romano has told Caught Offside that a number of Premier League outfits, including Crystal Palace and West Ham United, have approached Manchester United regarding a move for Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

The former England Under-21 international has not been a regular for Erik ten Hag this season, with Diogo Dalot emerging as the preferred choice on the right side of the Manchester United defence thus far.

But Wan-Bissaka’s recent appearances could prove to be a stumbling block for Crystal Palace and West Ham and their aspirations. That is because the 25-year-old has backed his talent with a few solid performances on the pitch.

Manchester United are yet to reach a consensus regarding his imminent future despite recent reports pointing to their eagerness to sell Wan-Bissaka. But given the current mood in and around the club, it can be decoded that a striker has been on the top of ten Hag’s list.

Time and again, the former Ajax manager pointed out Manchester United urgently require a centre forward. And they will focus only on the right kind of players. The Red Devils have maintained their cordial relationship with Crystal Palace by signing Jack Butland on a loan deal for the remainder of the season.

It was expected that Crystal Palace would be leveraging a deal for Wan-Bissaka in the conversation. But Manchester United have not entertained such offers. The right-back came through the ranks at the south London club and made his move to Manchester United back in 2019.

For West Ham, it has been a disappointing season as they have been toiling with the relegation fight. Vladimir Coufal has not been consistent, prompting David Moyes to opt for an alternative option. Funds will be available for the east London outfit, and there could be an incoming approach from them

Fabrizio Romano has now explained that there have not been any formal approaches from any clubs for the player. “There have been no major developments yet on Aaron Wan-Bissaka’s future.”

“Wolves, Crystal Palace and West Ham had talks to ask for information on the conditions of the deal in December, but it’s still early stages. Man United will let him go if they receive a good proposal and if they find a good backup option for Dalot; at the moment, it hasn’t happened yet.”

Manchester United paid a whopping £50 million for Wan-Bissaka. But they will be unable to recoup that much money. It will be interesting to see if Crystal Palace or West Ham succeed in their pursuit of the 25-year-old.
