Manchester United, Chelsea and Manchester City are gearing up for a transfer battle to land Monaco goalkeeping prodigy Lisandru Olmeta.
As per Footmercato, three Premier League giants Chelsea, Manchester City and Manchester United are monitoring the progress of AS Monaco goalkeeper Lisandru Olmeta.
The 17-year-old is yet to appear for the Monaco senior side but his quality for the youth side has already attracted interest from all over the globe. Olmeta helped France win the Under-17 European championships in 2021 and since then has been on the radar of multiple clubs.
The youngster is regarded as the perfect heir to Hugo Lloris, who recently announced his retirement from the French national team. The French club has already offered the player his first professional contract but he is tipped to leave the club in the summer.
Manchester United have reached a conclusion regarding the future of David de Gea as the Spaniard is set to be offered new terms, albeit at a lower wage. Jack Butland has recently been roped in but the English keeper is set to return to his parent club Crystal Palace in the summer.
Dean Henderson is unlikely to stay at Old Trafford as number two. So Olmeta could appear to be an option for United in the future. For Chelsea, Edouard Mendy has already been sidelined following his surgery while Kepa Arrizabalaga has been decent in the goal.
But ideally, Graham Potter would prefer an upgrade over his current goalkeeping options. The Blues already demonstrated their financial muscle over the last two transfer windows and co-owner Todd Boehly will need some more quality to restore the lost glory at Stamford Bridge.
For Manchester City, the goalkeeping situation is settled as Ederson has already hit his peak. But the Brazilian will turn 30 next summer, and the reigning English champions should have a contingency plan in place if the Brazilian fails to keep up his intensity in the next few seasons.
All three clubs are unlikely to push the player to the senior setup as the French youngster will have to prove himself through the ranks at his future club.
