Barcelona and Atletico Madrid are reportedly considering signing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from Chelsea this month.
According to a report by Spanish outlet Fichajes, Barcelona and Atletico Madrid are among the Spanish clubs interested in underperforming Chelsea attacker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. And the Blues are ready to part ways with the 33-year-old in the January transfer window.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is enduring a rollercoaster ride in the twilight years of his career. The Gabonese international has represented three clubs in the span of twelve months, struggling to embrace stability. This time last year, the veteran striker was persona non grata at Arsenal before Barcelona signed him in February 2022.
But Aubameyang’s stint with Barcelona lasted a little over half a year before he joined Chelsea. With the Blaugrana struggling to balance the books, they unwillingly parted ways with the 33-year-old. But the player has struggled to make his mark at Chelsea, scoring only three goals in 15 outings thus far. And he faces an uncertain future at Stamford Bridge in the ongoing transfer window.
Chelsea will unlikely stop Aubameyang from leaving if a suitor presents an attractive proposal. And according to Fichajes, Barcelona and Atletico Madrid are among the Spanish clubs keen on signing him this month. In addition, the underperforming Chelsea attacker is also a target for Valencia.
Aubameyang can’t play for any other club than Barcelona & Chelsea due to FIFA rules. 100% confirmed. 🔵🔴 #FCB
Been told Barça would love the idea to bring Auba back… but only if it’s 100% free transfer, different salary terms and only if Memphis Depay leaves (Atléti want him). pic.twitter.com/6pYlbDdd8R

Barcelona will reportedly look to re-sign Aubameyang if they part ways with Memphis Depay this month. The Dutch international is interestingly a target for Atletico Madrid and wants to leave the Catalan outfit. And Barcelona will look to fill a vacant slot in the offensive department by bringing Aubameyang back to Camp Nou.
As for Atletico Madrid, the Colchoneros want to fill the void left by the departure of Joao Felix. The Portuguese international joined Chelsea on Wednesday after a few run-ins with Diego Simeone. And Los Rojiblancos will look to bring in an attacker this month to embark on a memorable second half of 2022/23.
Apart from Barcelona and Atletico Madrid, Aubameyang is also a target for Valencia. But Fabrizio Romano has claimed that the 33-year-old can only play for Barcelona and Chelsea this season. So Atletico Madrid and Valencia do not have a chance to sign the underperforming Chelsea attacker. But Barcelona will only re-sign the former Arsenal captain if he is available for a free transfer.
