Alex Sandro has seen his representatives offer his services to Real Madrid, who will not sign the 31-year-old Brazilian left-back.

According to a report by Spanish outlet Defensa Central, Real Madrid had the chance to sign Alex Sandro in a Bosman move in the summer transfer window. But the Merengues have turned down the offer from the 31-year-old Juventus left-back’s representatives.

Alex Sandro has endured a rollercoaster ride since joining Juventus from FC Porto in August 2015. The Brazilian international was one of the best full-backs in Serie A for several years. But his stock has fallen considerably in the last couple of seasons due to his advancing years.

The 31-year-old has turned out nearly 300 times thus far for Juventus, chipping in with 15 goals and 32 assists. But Alex Sandro will likely depart from the Allianz Stadium as a free agent when his contract expires in the summer. And the player’s representatives have offered him to Real Madrid.

Real Madrid might delve into the market for a left-back in the summer transfer window. That is because Ferland Mendy’s stock has fallen at the Santiago Bernabeu. And the reigning La Liga champions are considering cashing in on the French defender.

Several left-backs, including Alejandro Grimaldo, have thus emerged on Real Madrid’s radar. And Alex Sandro’s representatives were hoping to tempt Los Blancos by offering the player to them. But the Merengues are not interested in signing the 31-year-old Brazilian left-back despite his impending free-agent status.

The reigning La Liga champions have already knocked back the offer to sign the Juventus defender. And Real Madrid will instead focus on pursuing Miguel Gutierrez and Fran Garcia to bolster the left-back slot in the summer. That is also because Alphonso Davies is the top long-term target for Real Madrid, with a 2024 move on the cards.

As for Alex Sandro, the 31-year-old Brazilian left-back needs to go back to the drawing board and identify his best option before embarking on a new challenge. And it will be interesting to see where he lands, with a move to Real Madrid not on the horizon.
