Newcastle United and Chelsea are monitoring the progress of Athletic-PR forward Vitor Roque in the near future.

As per a report in the Goal, both Chelsea and Newcastle United could be interested in acquiring the service of Vitor Roque in January. The 17-year-old has been labelled as a young superstar.

The Brazilian league has been a breeding ground for lethal and potent talents and Roque could be the next big thing. Chelsea are keen to make some big moves when it comes to their attack as Graham Potter wants to add more reinforcements.

They are on the verge of agreeing on a deal for Joao Felix from Atletico Madrid and further movements could be witnessed this month. Real Madrid snapped up the talented Endrick and the Blues don’t want to miss out on their target this time around.

The teenager has been tipped to make a big move outside Brazil and clubs are ready to circle around for his services. His tender age and his long-term contract are huge prospects and Athletico would demand at least €60 million to allow the player to leave.

As for Newcastle, they have been on top of their form but Eddie Howe wants more options as summer signing Alexander Isak hasn’t played at all. Howe will be given sufficient funds to sign the players on his wishlist and Roque remains one of his top priorities.

The 17-year-old prefers to play upfront but if the manager asks he can offer his services from the right flank as well. A deal in winter is seemingly not possible and both clubs will now be waiting for the summer to arrive.

Chelsea have already made three signings this window but the West London club haven’t really developed a rapport. Roque came through various levels at Cruzeiro and joined Athletico in April 2022.

Chelsea have been pretty inconsistent and have occupied the 10th place in the top flight while the Magpies have already managed to breach the top four and significant changes need to be made in a bid to change the fortunes of each team.

Barcelona are also believed to be interested in the player as well and the Spanish giants are not ready to concede defeat so early. The Spanish giants have developed mercurial young talents in the past and they could help Roque develop into a top class player if they manage to sign him in the future.
