Arsenal will send scouts to watch Greek prodigy Giannis Konstantelias, also a target for Manchester City and Crystal Palace.

According to Evening Standard, Arsenal have joined the chase for Greek prodigy Giannis Konstantelias. Manchester City and Crystal Palace are among the clubs monitoring the 19-year-old attacker as the Premier League sides plot a move for the POAK star this month.

Giannis Konstantelias is a name that is becoming synonymous with Premier League interest this month. Many top-flight clubs are trying to secure the 19-year-old Greek prodigy, with as many as three clubs from England vying for his signature.

The 19-year-old PAOK star is enjoying a good season. And despite only signing a new contract in 2022, Konstantelias could become tempted by the prospect of a bigger side. This time, he has had a breakthrough campaign, providing four assists in 14 games across all competitions.

Manchester City and Crystal Palace had shown interest early on and continue to keep tabs on his progress. Pep Guardiola and Patrick Vieira are looking out for prodigious talents for their respective setups and would be keen to add Konstantelias to their squad.

They know Konstantelias, coming from the Greek league, will have plenty to learn and prove before being considered for first-team action in the Premier League. As a result, Manchester City and Crystal Palace remain suitors alongside many others from Europe. And Arsenal have now joined them in the hunt, with the Gunners also monitoring the Greek prodigy’s situation.

Arsenal are reportedly about to send scouts to watch Konstantelias this month. If they return satisfied by what they see, then a move in the latter stages of the current window could become a possibility. Furthermore, Mikel Arteta remains open to adding young talents to his setup to develop and nurture them for future teams.

For instance, Marquinhos arrived in the summer. And the Gunners remain on the hunt for several other players with a younger age profile. Players like Elye Wahi and Lucas Kawan are on their radar, and Konstantelias may become the latest addition to this list.

The Gunners will prioritise signing first-team players in January amid ongoing talks with Atletico Madrid for Joao Felix and Shakhtar Donetsk for Mykhaylo Mudryk. Naturally, Arsenal want to sign both those players. But their pursuit of younger stars for the future will also continue.

Konstantelias will be a great addition to Arsenal’s budding squad and could find an environment suitable for his growth. However, the report claims that irrespective of any deal, PAOK would want the Greek prodigy to remain with the club until the summer. If one of Manchester City, Crystal Palace or Arsenal manage to sign him, they will have to let him stay in Greece for the remainder of the season.
