Chelsea are reportedly interested in signing Borussia Dortmund striker Youssoufa Moukoko and have tabled an offer to him.

According to a report from Sky Germany, Borussia Dortmund have offered Youssoufa Moukoko a new contract. But the 18-year-old striker is not prepared to sign the extension yet. Apparently, Premier League giants Chelsea have submitted an offer for the German international, and it remains to be seen whether he is prepared to move to Stamford Bridge.

Moukoko will be out of contract at the end of the season, and it makes sense for the German club to cash in on the player this month instead of losing him for free in the summer. Sky Sports journalist Marc Behrenbeck has confirmed that Dortmund have offered him a contract worth €6 million per year. But the player is yet to make a concrete decision regarding his future.

Chelsea could definitely use a quality striker and recently opened talks to sign Moukoko. It remains to be seen whether they can pull off the signature of the 18-year-old German international. The youngster is an elite talent and is expected to develop into a world-class player in the future.

The player has six goals and six assists to his name across all competitions and could prove to be a superb acquisition for Graham Potter’s side. The Chelsea manager has an impressive track record of helping young players improve and can help the Dortmund striker fulfill his potential at Stamford Bridge. The talented striker has also been linked with Barcelona.

The likes of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Kai Havertz, Christian Pulisic, Hakim Ziyech and Raheem Sterling have not been at their best this season. And Chelsea will need to improve their attacking department to finish in the top four and secure UEFA Champions League qualification. Moukoko has the ability to make an immediate impact at the Premier League club, thus explaining their eagerness.

The 18-year-old German international is regarded as a world-class talent, and Dortmund will ideally want to hold on to him for the long run. But it seems that the decision is now out of their hands, and the player will have the final say on his future.
