Arsenal have agreed personal terms with Mykhaylo Mudryk on a five-year deal, as they continue their conversations with Shakhtar Donetsk.

According to Sport Arena, Arsenal have agreed on personal terms with top target Mykhaylo Mudryk over a five-year deal. The Gunners are yet to convince Shakhtar Donetsk of a sale of the winger. The two clubs continue their discussions for the 21-year-old.

Arsenal are interested in Mykhaylo Mudryk, and the player undoubtedly wants to join them in the coming days. The Gunners’ top target posted on Instagram to show he was watching the team play West Ham United and Brighton & Hove Albion. The 21-year-old wants to leave Shakhtar Donetsk and is heaping pressure on the Ukrainian outfit to sell him.

On the eve of the Boxing Day clash with West Ham, news of Arsenal’s first bid for Mudryk emerged in the media. The offer was worth a reported €60 million, including bonuses. But Shakhtar swiftly rejected the proposal as they continue to hold for around €100 million.

Shakhtar have cited the fees paid by the Manchester clubs for Antony and Jack Grealish and want a similar figure for their prized asset. Arsenal could submit a second, improved offer to tempt the Ukrainian outfit.

Things have been quiet in the last few days, but Mikel Arteta wants the winger and has urged the club to complete a deal swiftly. They might substantially increase the base price and further add to the bonuses. Shakhtar might consider the new offer, but the two clubs are in a deadlock.

As for Mudryk, he has reportedly agreed on personal terms with Arsenal over a five-year deal. The Gunners want to complete the move as soon as possible, hence the swift move to sort out the things at the player’s end. The squad needs proper cover in the wide-attacking areas, with Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka taking on the entire burden this season.

Adding Mudryk would significantly push Arsenal’s chances in the Premier League title race. The winger would add quality to their squad and upgrade Arteta’s options when games come in thick and fast. The Gunners also remain keen on signing a new midfielder. Youri Tielemans, Sergej Milinkovic-Savic and Danilo are all mentioned as potential targets.

Arsenal will take on third-placed Newcastle United on Tuesday night. And after that, there are some tough games on the counter. Arteta will want to wrap up the Mudryk signing soon. The manager hopes to integrate him before games against Tottenham and the Manchester clubs.
