Newcastle United are reportedly interested in signing Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Kouadio Kone.

According to a report from Media Foot, Newcastle United have approached Borussia Monchengladbach to buy Kouadio Kone. And the Magpies have offered €35 million for the emerging French midfielder.

The 21-year-old has a contract with the German club until the summer of 2025. And €35 million could prove to be a substantial amount of money for the 21-year-old. It will be interesting to see if Gladbach are willing to sanction his departure in January.

Eddie Howe needs to add more quality and depth to his midfield. And the 21-year-old would be a superb long-term acquisition for Newcastle United. The highly-rated defensive midfielder will add power, presence, and defensive cover to the Newcastle midfield. He is composed on the ball as well and is excellent at recycling the possession.

With Jonjo Shelvey sidelined with an injury, Newcastle need to bring in a midfielder this month, and Kouadio Kone has emerged as a viable target. The emerging French midfielder would be the ideal fit for the Magpies.

The 21-year-old is immensely talented, and he has a bright future ahead of him. Howe could help him improve and fulfill his tremendous potential at the Premier League club. The opportunity to join Newcastle will be an attractive proposition for the player.

Moving to the Premier League will allow Kone to showcase his qualities at a higher level. The Magpies have an ambitious project, and they could challenge for the major trophies soon. The player Is reportedly on the radar of French outfit Paris Saint-Germain as well. And it will be interesting to see if the Ligue 1 champions decide to come forward with an offer this month.

There is no doubt that PSG are a far better team right now and probably a more enticing project. However, Newcastle United have the financial resources to battle it out with the French outfit for the signature of Kone. But it is unclear if €35 million will be enough to prise the emerging French midfielder from Gladbach.

Newcastle have been outstanding during the first half of the season, and they have a great chance of finishing in the top four. Bringing in the right additions in January could help them secure Champions League qualification for the next season. But with PSG and Chelsea reportedly interested, an intriguing window beckons Kone.
