Chelsea are on the verge of completing another transfer as Monaco defender Benoit Badiashile could be their first signing in January.
As per 90min, Chelsea could open the winter transfer window with a move for Monaco defender Benoit Badiashile. The Blues have been linked with a number of defenders and it seems their search has finally been wrapped up.
It is suggested the Blues have been locked in staunch negotiations in the last several days and a fee of £30 million has been mooted up for the transfer. Personal terms shouldn’t be a problem and a medical has also been booked to facilitate the transfer as soon as possible.
Chelsea invested pretty heavily in two centre-backs this summer as both Kalidou Koulibaly and Wesley Fofana arrived for big fees but they have been leaking goals on regular occasions.
Added to that, this could be Thiago Silva’s last season at Stamford Bridge and replacements are bound to be coming. The Blues were keen on RB Leipzig defender Josko Gvardiol but his massive price tag put them off and they have now shifted their focus to the 21-year-old.
The young defender has been a revelation in the Ligue 1 and Chelsea will be getting an unpolished gem. Eminent journalist Fabrizio Romano already hinted that a deal is in the offing and only some final touches are being given.

He is quick-footed and has a strong build and his aerial prowess is what makes him pretty much unbeatable when he is on the song. The defender has already been capped twice by France and in the coming years and he could build a solid partnership with the likes of Ibrahima Konate and others.
Chelsea are expected to be one of the busiest teams in the January transfer window as co-owner Todd Boehly will bankroll another eventuful transfer window.
