Arsenal, Manchester United, and Chelsea are reportedly interested in landing Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic “immediately,” with the player said to be “discontented” with his spell in Turin.
According to Corriere Dello Sport, as relayed by Sport Witness, Chelsea, Manchester United, and Arsenal have been handed a transfer boost heading into January as the future of Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic remains up in the air.
The Premier League trio are in the market for a new No.9 and are sniffing around the Serbian hitman, who is unhappy under Massimiliano Allegri, and Juventus are finally willing to let him go.
While the Italian giants’ original stance was to “postpone any discussion at least until the end of the season,” a lucrative offer could “change their minds”, with the report stating that a bid in excess of €90 million would be “listened to carefully” by the Bianconeri.
The Serbian only joined the Old Lady early this year when Juventus paid over €70 million to acquire his services from fellow Serie A outfit Fiorentina in January, beating Arsenal to his signature after the Gunners registered their own interest.
He has since been a regular starter for the Bianconeri and has come up with key goals. This season, he has scored seven times in 15 appearances. In total, he has scored 16 goals and provided four assists in 36 appearances across all competitions.
However, there is a feeling that he has failed to find his best form for the Turin giants and is clearly not a good fit for Allegri’s Juve side despite his obvious potential.
In truth, the Bianconeri have had a turbulent 2022, currently sitting 10 points off the top of the league, being ousted from the Champions League, and having off-field controversies that have left the team floundering.
The situation has cast doubt over the futures of a number of Juventus players, with Vlahovic being one of those considering a move elsewhere. The 22-year-old is thought to be open to leaving Turin either next month or in the summer and should have no shortage of suitors.
Arsenal, for one, have maintained their long-standing interest, especially in the wake of Gabriel Jesus being ruled out for a few months. Vlahovic has been linked as a possible option for the Gunners in January and will offer creative link-up play as well as an aerial threat in the box on top of his undoubted finishing skills.
To sign Vlahovic, however, they will have to beat off stiff competition. Manchester United and Chelsea are also weighing up moves for the 22-year-old hitman.
United have left themselves short in the striking department after Ronaldo’s exit. Losing out on top-target Cody Gakpo to Liverpool has highlighted the gap between the two clubs at the hierarchical level. Vlahovic could be the answer to their problems, but they will have to break the bank to sign him.
Chelsea are thought to be on the lookout for a new striker to lead the line for the rest of the campaign, with Armando Broja out for the season after suffering a long-term injury earlier this month, making Vlahovic a viable but expensive option.
One big question mark remains, though, and that is whether or not all three would be willing to stump up that much money for a player in the middle of the season.
