Juranovic did well during the 2022 FIFA World Cup for his country. And his performances have caught the attention of Chelsea. It is no surprise that the Blues are looking to bring in a right-back, especially after the recent injury blow to Reece James.

The 23-year-old returned after a lengthy layoff against Bournemouth before picking up another knee injury against the Cherries. Chelsea are lacking in quality and depth in the full-back positions. and Juranovic could prove to be a quality acquisition.

The 27-year-old Celtic defender has the ability to succeed in the Premier League. And he could prove to be a useful addition to Graham Potter’s squad next month. The opportunity to move to Stamford Bridge will be an exciting proposition for Juranovic. So he is likely to be tempted to join the London club. It remains to be seen whether Chelsea can agree on a fee with Celtic now.

Juranovic is at the peak of his career, and he will want to join a big club. Chelsea can offer him the platform to compete at a higher level and challenge for major trophies. And the Blues have stepped up their efforts to sign the 27-year-old after his World Cup heroics.

Meanwhile, James is expected to be ruled out for a month with his latest injury, and  he can return to action at the end of January.  The 23-year-old right-back is one of the best players in his position in the Premier League, and his absence will certainly weaken Chelsea. The English international’s attacking output has been outstanding since he broke into the first-team setup.

Juranovic showcased his quality during the World Cup with Croatia. But there is no doubt that James is a superior player, and Potter will be hoping that the young defender can return to action as soon as possible. Chelsea are fighting to qualify for the UEFA Champions League and will hope to get over their injury issues and strengthen the squad sufficiently over the next few weeks.
