Chelsea are reportedly interested in signing 27-year-old Croatian international goalkeeper Dominik Livakovic.

According to a report from Media Foot, Chelsea are trying to gather information regarding Dominik Livakovic ahead of a potential move in January. The 27-year-old was a heroic performer for Croatia at the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

Dominik Livakovic has seen his stock skyrocket an exceptional 2022 FIFA World Cup with Croatia. And the Dinamo Zagreb goalkeeper has caught the attention of the Premier League giants with his performances in Qatar.

The 27-year-old was one of the major reasons why Croatia made it to the semi-finals of the tournament, and it will be interesting to see if he can secure a big move in the upcoming window. Other clubs like Leeds United and Manchester United have also shown interest in the player.

Chelsea are reportedly looking to bring in a replacement for Edouard Mendy, who has refused to renew his contract with the club. The Senegalese goalkeeper will be a free agent at the end of the season. And the report claims that the Blues have lost their faith in the player.

Mendy was excellent for Chelsea when he joined the club. But he has regressed significantly over the last few months. He has lost his first-team place to Kepa Arrizabalaga, and it seems that he is looking to move on in search of regular game time at the end of the season.

Chelsea will need to replace Mendy adequately, and Media Foot claims that Livakovic is one of the options on the radar. Meanwhile, the Premier League giants could look to use the talented young goalkeeper Gabriel Slonina as a backup option to Kepa as well. He joined Chelsea last summer, and has spent a season on loan at Chicago Fire.

If the youngster manages to convince Graham Potter with his performances, Chelsea will use him as an understudy to the Spaniard. However, if Potter feels that Chelsea need to bring in a more experienced option, the Blues could look to move for Livakovic.

The 27-year-old is at the peak of his powers right now, and this would be the ideal time for him to move to the Premier League. He will be hoping to compete with Kepa for the starting berth at Stamford Bridge, and it remains to be seen how the situation develops over the next few weeks at Chelsea.
