Illan Meslier has been linked with a move away from Leeds United, with Bayern Munich, Chelsea, and Manchester United interested.

According to a report from Media Foot, Chelsea and Manchester United are keen on signing Illan Meslier. But they will face competition from German champions, Bayern Munich, for the 22-year-old goalkeeper.

Chelsea goalkeeper Edouard Mendy has been linked with a move away from the club, and the Senegalese international is nearing the end of this contract at Stamford Bridge. Recent reports have claimed that Mendy has turned down a contract offer from Chelsea.

The 30-year-old has fallen down the pecking order at the west London club, and he could look to move on in search of regular game time. In that case, Graham Potter will need to bring in a quality replacement. And Meslier has emerged as a viable target for Chelsea.

The French goalkeeper has established himself as a key player for Leeds United, and he is well-settled in the Premier League. He could challenge Kepa Arrizabalaga for the starting spot at Stamford Bridge if the transfer to Chelsea goes through. Furthermore, he is young enough to improve further and develop into a top-class player in the future.

As far as Manchester United are concerned, they have been linked with a number of goalkeepers as a potential replacement for David De Gea. The Spaniard has been linked with a move away from Old Trafford since the arrival of Erik ten Hag. Apparently, the Dutchman is looking for someone more accomplished with his feet. And Meslier is certainly a better passer compared to de Gea.

Meanwhile, German champions Bayern Munich will have to plan for a future without club legend Manuel Neuer. And the young French goalkeeper could be the ideal long-term replacement for the German stalwart.

All three clubs would represent an exciting opportunity for the 22-year-old. And it will be interesting to see who comes forward with a concrete offer first. Leeds have had a mediocre season so far, and a player of Meslier’s ability will want to play at a higher level in the near future.

Joining Bayern Munich will allow him to compete for major trophies and play in the UEFA Champions League regularly. The 22-year-old is likely to be tempted if a concrete offer comes along. But Chelsea and Manchester United will also hope to turn his head.
