PSG are reportedly interested in William Saliba, with the club in dialogue with the Arsenal defender’s representatives over a summer move.
According to Media Foot, Paris Saint-Germain are interested in William Saliba and could plot a summer move for the Arsenal defender. The centre-back could be open to moving back to his homeland as he vies for a permanent place in the France setup. But Mikel Arteta could stand in the way of a move.
William Saliba has proven his worth at Arsenal this season despite heavy speculation regarding his long-term future. He has cemented a place in the Gunners’ backline alongside Gabriel Magalhaes and helped the team to lead the Premier League standings.
After concerns that Mikel Arteta did not rate him, the Spanish manager has started Saliba in each of the 14 games in the Premier League. Despite the Arsenal defender’s reintegration into the squad three years after joining the club, the centre-back’s long-term future remains in severe doubt.
Saliba’s contract expires in 2024, with Arsenal making concerted efforts to tie him down for the long term. The Gunners remain confident about agreeing on a new deal, and the player is reportedly happy to commit. However, no deal has been agreed upon yet, which opens up plenty of possibilities about his future.

Paris Saint-Germain are interested in the Arsenal defender and want to plot a summer move for the 21-year-old. Luis Campos is keen on signing the French international, with the Parisians reportedly in touch with the player’s agents regarding a possible deal.
The report claims Saliba is open to moving to PSG, with his ultimate aim being to cement a permanent place in the France national squad. The Arsenal defender was part of the World Cup group but barely played as Argentina defeated Les Bleus in the final on penalties.
Saliba reportedly feels playing in his homeland will increase his chances of cementing a place in the national squad. He was behind Dayot Upamecano and Ibrahima Konate in the pecking order and would like a change.
Arteta could prove a big problem for PSG in terms of signing Saliba. Les Parisiens are also not willing to pay heavily to land the Arsenal defender. And the Gunners’ manager will try his best to convince Saliba to stay put at the Emirates.
PSG could prove an interesting option for Saliba, although he is well-placed to form a strong presence at Arsenal for years to come. Much will depend on whether he signs the new deal at the Emirates, essentially quashing all speculation regarding his future.
