William Saliba could be open to joining Paris Saint-Germain amid heavy interest from the Ligue 1 giants, but Arsenal may not be worried.

According to CBS Sport via Daily Post, William Saliba is open to joining Paris Saint-Germain. The Parisians are keen on the French international, but the Gunners remain confident about agreeing to new terms.

William Saliba could become a part of multiple media stories between now and the end of the season. The French defender is having a sensational season at Arsenal, who remain keen to extend his current contract.

Saliba is an integral part of Mikel Arteta’s system after a terrific start to the campaign. The 21-year-old centre-back arrived from Saint-Etienne three years ago. After that, the current Arsenal boss wanted him to learn through a few loan spells away from the club.

After a successful spell last season with Marseille, the Frenchman returned to the club and got integrated into the starting lineup by Arteta. While he has nailed down a fixed spot on the side, there’s the concern with his contractual situation.

Saliba’s deal will expire in 2024, and Arsenal have already tabled a new proposal for the defender. Arteta want Saliba, Bukayo Saka, and Gabriel Martinelli to sign new contracts and he hopes to keep them at the club for the long term.

Saliba remains open to signing the new deal at Arsenal, but the speculation could continue until he puts pen to paper. And now links with PSG have resurfaced, with the French giants interested in him. The Parisians will come into the equation if the defender refuses to sign the extension in north London.

The Ligue 1 champions are always in the market for the best players, and Saliba is proving to be a top-level defender in the Premier League. The report claims Saliba would be open to joining PSG if an offer arrives. Arsenal are confident about the 21-year-old’s future and remain relaxed about his situation.

Even if Saliba decides to leave, Arsenal will demand a significant sum in return. PSG will push for a transfer if they have an opportunity with the 21-year-old, although any move away from north London may take a while.
