La Liga champions Real Madrid are reportedly unlikely to secure the services of 19-year-old German international Jamal Musiala.
According to a report by Spanish outlet Fichajes, Jamal Musiala is an impossible dream for Real Madrid. The reigning La Liga champions view the 19-year-old Bayern Munich prodigy as a potential successor to Luka Modric and Toni Kroos. But he will unlikely depart from the Allianz Arena next year.
Jamal Musiala spent his formative years in England and Germany. The teenage prodigy started his youth career at TSV Lehnerz in Germany before cutting his teeth in the academies at Chelsea and Southampton. He finally graduated from the Bayern Munich academy a couple of years ago and has become a pivotal figure for Die Roten.
Musiala has been excellent thus far in the 2022/23 season, amassing 12 goals and nine assists in 22 appearances. And the German international was one of the best players at the 2022 FIFA World Cup despite Die Mannschaft’s early elimination. Meanwhile, the player’s progress has captured the attention of Real Madrid.
The Merengues are scouring the market for the long-term successors of Luka Modric and Toni Kroos. The long-serving midfield stalwarts are in the twilight of their respective careers. And with retirement looming for both top-class midfielders, Real Madrid will need to be ready for life after Modric and Kroos.
Musiala has thus emerged as a viable target for Los Blancos. And the 19-year-old German international can be a versatile asset like Federico Valverde. But Real Madrid will not be the only high-profile club pursuing the Bayern Munich prodigy next year.
Musiala has also emerged on the radars of Premier League bigwigs like Liverpool and Manchester United. But the report claims that the teenage sensation is an impossible dream for Real Madrid. That is because he will likely remain at Bayern Munich beyond the summer transfer window.
It is highly unlikely that Bayern Munich will entertain the idea of selling the 19-year-old German international. So Real Madrid will have to look elsewhere to bring in the successors to Modric and Kroos. It will be interesting to see who arrives at the Bernabeu to replace the duo in the long run.
