Gabriel Martinelli is set to sign a bumper new contract worth £200,000 per week with Arsenal to dash the hopes of his European admirers.

According to Daily Mail, Gabriel Martinelli is set to commit to his long-term future at Arsenal by signing a bumper new contract. The Brazilian sensation could become one of the club’s top earners with a £200,000-per-week package once he pens the new deal.

Gabriel Martinelli, at 21, is already one of the most sought-after talents in Europe. And Arsenal are reaping the rewards for their patient approach with the Brazilian. Mikel Arteta, in particular, has been instrumental in his development and has found the right use this season.

Martinelli has five goals and three assists this term to help Arsenal to the top of the Premier League charts. The Gunners currently lead the table by five points, with Manchester City in second place. Since becoming manager, Arteta has built a great project, and the current team is only the beginning.

Arsenal and their fans have understood the importance of Arteta’s project and are unanimously backing the Spaniard in his quest to bring the club back to its glorious period. Meanwhile, the winger has seen his stature rise internationally after his inclusion with the Brazilian squad for the World Cup.

Martinelli made one start and a few substitute appearance, and he could make a strong claim to become a part of future squads. Hence, the winger is happy and ready to sign a new deal at the Emirates until 2027. His current contract expires in 2024, but Arsenal can extend it until 2026.

With the new deal, Martinelli will nearly triple his wages and earn a reported £200,000 per week. He will become one of the top earners at Arsenal, and the news will come as a blow to many of his suitors, including AC Milan and Barcelona.

His performances had attracted plenty of suitors, including the duo and PSG. However, for a long time, he was adamant about spending the future with Arsenal and had instructed his representatives to finalise a new contract at the Emirates.

The 21-year-old has already returned to Arsenal following Brazil’s exit in the quarter-finals of the World Cup. Martinelli is expected to feature against West Ham on Boxing Day, while there are suggestions he will be given more of a central role following Gabriel Jesus’s long injury.
