Barcelona, Real Madrid will reportedly need to fork out $100 million to sign Brazilian attacking sensation Vitor Roque.

According to a report by Spanish outlet Fichajes, Barcelona and Real Madrid now know how much they will need to pay to sign Vitor Roque. Athletico Paranaense will demand $100 million to part ways with the Brazilian attacking sensation.

Vitor Roque has gone from strength to strength since taking age-group football by storm in his homeland. The 17-year-old spent most of his formative years with Atletico Mineiro and Cruzeiro. But he has made his mark in professional football after joining Athletico Paranaense earlier this year.

The Brazilian attacking sensation enjoyed a solid 2022 season, amassing 14 goals and five assists in 51 appearances, scoring once every 180 minutes. That is a remarkable output for a player in his budding years. And it is hardly surprising that Vitor Roque’s progress has captured the attention of Barcelona and Real Madrid.

Both Barcelona and Real Madrid have a storied history of housing Brazilian prodigies and superstars. From Neymar and Ronaldinho at FC Barcelona to Vinicius Junior and Ronaldo at Real Madrid, several players from the country have made their mark for the two biggest La Liga clubs.

So it is hardly surprising that Barcelona and Real Madrid have Vitor Roque in their sights. But the continued interest from Real Madrid is intriguing, considering they have reached an agreement to sign Endrick. However, Vitor Roque can potentially beef up the offensive unit further with his arrival.

As for Barcelona, with Robert Lewandowski well into his thirties, the Blaugrana will need to invest in a striker. And Vitor Roque has emerged as a viable target for Barcelona. With the Brazilian attacking sensation in his teens, he can initially learn the ropes from Lewandowski before potentially taking over as  the first-choice striker. But his price tag, worth $100 million, poses a problem for Barcelona.

The Catalan giants remain in a financial mess and will unlikely manage to afford to pay $100 million on a single player. On the other hand, it is unclear if Real Madrid will be open to triggering the hefty release clause after securing the services of Endrick. It will be interesting to see where Vitor Roque plies his trade when he moves to Europe.
