Chelsea and Liverpool are reportedly interested in signing Brighton and Hove Albion midfielder Moises Caicedo.

According to a report from Sky Sports, Chelsea and Liverpool are looking to improve their midfield department with the signing of 21-year-old Ecuadorian midfielder Moises Caicedo from Premier League club Brighton & Hove Albion.

It is fair to assume that Brighton will not sell a key player midway through the season. So Chelsea and Liverpool will likely have to wait until the summer transfer window in order to sign the 21-year-old.

Caicedo has been a key player for Brighton since joining club, and it is no surprise that the top clubs are looking to sign him. The 21-year-old is a big talent who has a massive future ahead of him. However, he has a contract with Brighton until the summer of 2025, and the Seagulls are under no pressure to cash in on him.

Both Chelsea and Liverpool are in desperate need of midfield reinforcements right now. Chelsea could lose and N’Golo Kante and Jorginho as free agents at the end of the season. On the other hand, Liverpool will likely see Naby Keita, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, and James Milner depart as free agents.

It will be interesting to see if both clubs can strengthen their midfield considerably in the coming months. Chelsea and Liverpool have been linked with a number of players in recent months, and it remains to be seen whether they can the deals over the line.

Liverpool are reportedly chasing English international midfielder Jude Bellingham as well. Meanwhile, the 21-year-old Brighton midfielder has proven his quality in the Premier League over the past year and could be open to making a step up in his career. A move to Stamford Bridge or Anfield would be a major step up for him, and he is likely to be tempted to join either of the two clubs.

Furthermore, a move to Chelsea or Liverpool would allow Caicedo to play alongside better players, and that will only help him improve as a footballer. Managers like Jurgen Klopp and Graham Potter will aid his development and help the 21-year-old fulfil his tremendous potential over the next few seasons.
