According to Football Insider, the race for Youssoufa Moukoko is heating up as several high-profile English clubs continue to chase the Borussia Dortmund youngster. The Chelsea and Manchester City target’s contract expires in the summer, as he will be able to sign a pre-contract in January, with Liverpool very much in the race.

Liverpool are one of several clubs extremely keen on signing Borussia Dortmund sensation Youssoufa Moukoko. The exciting youngster’s contract expires in the summer, as he will remain available to sign pre-contract with clubs outside of Germany during the January window.

Borussia Dortmund will rue their luck over the Chelsea and Manchester City target, as they want to tie him down to a new deal. The Bundesliga giants were hoping to develop the striker into a top-rated star, but it may appear he has decided on his next move.

Moukoko has already notched six goals in the Bundesliga this season and received a call-up to Hansi Flick’s Germany squad for the World Cup. He only managed one substitute appearance as the Germans crashed out in the group stages. In any case, his stock has seen a dramatic rise over the last few months, thus alerting some of the biggest sides.

Chelsea opened talks with him and are still in the race to finalise a deal with the youngster. The idea is to tie him to a pre-contract agreement in January and sign him on a free transfer when the season ends. Meanwhile, Pep Guardiola is also keeping tabs on his progress, and may urge the club to sign the player if an opportunity is presented.

Manchester United and Liverpool are also mentioned as possible suitors, with Jurgen Klopp’s side growing increasingly interested with each passing day. The German manager is keen on the Dortmund prospect as he builds his side with young players.

Klopp has managed to refresh the attacking line quite well in recent windows with Darwin Nunez and Luis Diaz but will need more stars to finalise the group. They have managed to open talks with the player’s camp. Moukoko is already considered a generational talent by some, and Liverpool may not want to lose an opportunity like this.

His potential arrival on a free transfer will entice the Reds, who could re-direct a good amount of funds toward other needy areas of their squad. As for him arriving at Anfield, much will depend on the player, considering some of the biggest teams are chasing him.
