Chelsea have reportedly been linked with a move for Ousmane Dembele, who does not want to leave Barcelona.

According to a report from Fichajes, Chelsea are keen on signing Ousmane Dembele and are prepared to trigger his €50 million release clause. However, the French international winger is keen to continue at Barcelona, and the Spanish giants could look to open contract talks with him once he returns from the World Cup.

The 25-year-old has been in fine form for club and country this season and has a big future ahead of him. The Blues could certainly use a top-class winger like him, thus explaining the interest. So it will be interesting to see if Chelsea can convince the Barcelona forward to join them with a lucrative offer.

The likes of Hakim Ziyech and Christian Pulisic have been quite underwhelming this season, and both players have been linked with moves away from Stamford Bridge.

Graham Potter will have to bring in necessary alternatives at the end of the season, and the Frenchman could prove to be a quality signing. The reported €50 million release clause seems quite reasonable for a player of his ability as well, and Barcelona will be hoping that the player extends his contract with them so that they can increase the exit clause.

Dembele seems to have finally gotten over his persistent injury problems, and he has been a regular starter for Barcelona this season. The Frenchman has been crucial to their impressive start to the season and will be hoping to help him win the league title this season.

Currently, the player will be focused on Sunday’s World Cup final against Argentina. The 25-year-old has been a key performer for France in Qatar so far, and he could make a big difference against La Albiecelste on Sunday.

Dembele has five goals and nine assists across all competitions this season, and he could improve Chelsea significantly in the final third. He will add pace, flair, and goals to the Chelsea attack. His arrival will benefit someone like Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang as well. The former Arsenal striker has struggled to find the net consistently because of the lack of service so far this season.
