Joao Felix wants Arsenal move

Portuguese international Joao Felix has been linked with a move to the Premier League in recent weeks and wants to join Arsenal.

According to English journalist James Nursey, Joao Felix is keen on moving to Arsenal despite interest from clubs like Aston Villa. The 23-year-old has been linked with a move away from the Spanish club for a while now.

Joao Felix has not been able to live up to expectations since the big-money move from Benfica, and Atletico Madrid are looking to cut their losses on him. The Spanish outfit are under financial pressure after crashing out of the UEFA Champions League in the group stages, and they will need to sell some players to balance the books.

Felix certainly retains a lot of value despite his inconsistent performances at the Spanish club. The 23-year-old is widely regarded as a world-class talent. And a number of Premier League clubs have been linked with him in recent months, including Arsenal.

It will be interesting to see if Arsenal can agree on a deal with Atletico Madrid for the Portuguese international. Recent reports have claimed that the Gunners lead the race to sign the 23-year-old. And Felix reportedly wants to join Arsenal instead of Aston Villa.

The 23-year-old did quite well at the 2022 FIFA World Cup, and he could prove to be a quality long-term addition to Mikel Arteta’s attack. The Gunners are currently fighting for the Premier League title and will need to reinforce the squad during the January transfer window to beat Manchester City to the title.

Felix has the potential to develop into a world-class player, and he could make a big difference for Arsenal in the final third. Star striker Gabriel Jesus picked up an injury during the World Cup and he will be sidelined for a few weeks. Arteta needs to bring in an alternative so that the performance levels do not drop, and Felix seems like a quality option.

Meanwhile, newly-appointed Aston Villa manager Unai Emery is keen on signing the 23-year-old as well. But the player is clearly eyeing a move to Arsenal instead. It will be interesting to see how the situation develops over the next few weeks now.
