Manchester City a possible destination for Joao Felix

Manchester City have been linked with a move for Portuguese international Joao Felix, a target for Arsenal and Manchester United.

According to a report from Daily Mail, Manchester City are are a potential destination for Joao Felix. The Premier League champions will face competition from Arsenal and Manchester United in the race to sign the 23-year-old attacker from Atletico Madrid.

Felix has fallen out of favour with Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone. And he has been linked with a move to the Premier League amid interest from Arsenal and Manchester United, among others.

The Spanish club signed the 23-year-old for a fee of around £120 million back in 2019. But the transfer has not worked out for either party. Felix has struggled to replicate his Benfica form on a consistent basis. The attacker is clearly not a good fit for Diego Simeone’s conservative approach, and he needs to join a club who are more adventurous going forward.

Manchester City could prove to be a quality move for the player, and someone like Pep Guardiola might get the best out of him. The Spanish manager is regarded as one of the best attacking tacticians of all time. And the 23-year-old Portuguese attacker could really flourish in his system.

However, it will be interesting to see how Manchester City accommodate him in their starting lineup. The Premier League champions already have top class attackers like Erling Haaland and Julian Alvarez. Felix can play anywhere across the front three, but he is more suited to the left flank or centre forward role.

Meanwhile, the player has been linked with Manchester United and Arsenal as well. The Red Devils are in desperate need of attacking reinforcements, especially after the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo.

Marcos Rashford is the only reliable goalscorer at Manchester United right now. And the Red Devils will have to bring someone who can share the goalscoring burden with the English international.

As far as Arsenal are concerned, they have recently lost Gabriel Jesus to an injury, and Mikel Arteta will have to add more depth to his attacking department. The Gunners are currently fighting for the Premier League title and will need top-class additions in order to bridge the gap with clubs like Manchester City.

Felix is only 23 and is widely regarded as a world-class talent. The Atletico Madrid ace has all the tools to develop into a superstar. He could prove to be a quality long-term addition for each of Manchester City, Manchester United, and Arsenal.
