Chelsea in contact with Dusan Vlahovic

Sir Jim Ratcliffe could replace Erik ten Hag with Graham Potter at Manchester United.

Chelsea are reportedly interested in signing Dusan Vlahovic and have contacted the 22-year-old Juventus striker.

According to reputed English journalist Ben Jacobs, Dusan Vlahovic could leave Serie A giants Juventus in January. And Chelsea are keen on securing the services of the 22-year-old striker.

The Blues have been in touch with the player’s agent along with a host of other European clubs, with Arsenal also establishing contact with him. The 22-year-old Serbian international joined the Serie A giants after impressing with Fiorentina. But things have not gone according to plan for him at the Turin club.

Vlahovic joined Juventus in January 2022, and he has not been able to hit top form with them so far. Although his numbers are far from poor, Juventus would have expected a lot more from him when they decided to splash the cash on the Serb. The player has nine goals and three assists across all competitions for club and country this season.

Chelsea are in desperate need of attacking reinforcements, and Vlahovic has emerged as a viable target. The Blues have a number of attacking players, but none of them have been in good form this season. While the likes of Hakim Ziyech and Christian Pulisic have been linked with moves away from Stamford Bridge, Raheem Sterling and Kai Havertz have been largely underwhelming.

Summer signing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has not been at his best either, while youngster Armando Broja has been ruled out for several months with an injury. So Graham Potter must do everything in his power to bring in a striker during the January transfer window. And Vlahovic could prove to be a smart addition for Chelsea.

The 22-year-old has the physical and technical attributes to thrive in English football, and it will be interesting to see if Chelsea can agree on a fee with Juventus. Meanwhile, the west Londoners have established contact with the Serb.

Ben Jacobs has claimed that Juventus are open to letting the player leave in 2023. And sources close to the 22-year-old have confirmed that a January move cannot be ruled out. Chelsea certainly have the finances to tempt the Serie A club to sell the attacker, and it will be interesting to see how the situation develops over the next few weeks.
