Newcastle United are pretty keen on Chelsea forward Christian Pulisic but are unwilling to meet the €35 million asking price.
As per Fichajes, Newcastle United will be negotiating a lower price for Christian Pulisic, who is on the verge of leaving Stamford Bridge. The USMNT international has not been properly used by Chelsea since arriving from Borussia Dortmund in the Premier League.
Chelsea will use this window of opportunity to raise some funds by letting leave some of their fringe players. And Christian Pulisic remains one of the players who could still attract high value.
The 24-year-old led his country’s attack at the 2022 FIFA World Cup and still has a long career ahead of him. Newcastle United have been flying high under the tutelage of Eddie Howe who still wants to push for the ultimate glory and for that he needs some definite reinforcements in January.
Pulisic looked in good rhythm at the World Cup for his country and could be a nice fit in Howe’s fast and attacking approach to the game at Newcastle United. The Magpies currently sit third in the Premier League and need some major funding to maintain their path to the UEFA Champions League next season.
The Tyneside giants currently have the wealthiest owner in the world. But Newcastle United want to invest in a certain way to keep up the good work the manager has been doing in the very first place. Nonetheless, Pulisic has emerged as a viable target.
Chelsea still need to agree on a fee with Newcastle. But the Magpies have so far refused to budge into their demand of €35 million. They believe a deal for a much lower price could be done and even have a contingency plan in place in case they fail to entice the player to St. James’ Park.
Leeds United’s Jack Harrison and Brighton & Hove Albion’s Leandro Trossard have emerged as their other options on the list. Meanwhile, Pulisic is determined to leave Chelsea and might force the club to reach a consensus to end his misery.
Arsenal and Manchester United are also in the line for his signature. But Newcastle United are much ahead and need to act fast there won’t be a dearth of suitors for the former Dortmund player despite his Chelsea struggles.
