PSG join Barcelona in N’Golo Kante pursuit

Paris Saint-Germain have joined Barcelona in the race to sign Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante at the end of the season.

According to a report from Spanish publication SPORT, Paris Saint-Germain have now joined the transfer chase for N’Golo Kante. And the French champions are looking to bring the Chelsea midfielder to Parc des Princes ahead of Barcelona.

The 31-year-old midfielder will be out of contract at the end of the season. And Chelsea have not been able to agree on a contract extension with him yet. So the player looks all set to move on as a free agent once the season ends.

Meanwhile, foreign clubs like Barcelona and PSG will be able to secure pre-contract agreements with the French international midfielder when the transfer window reopens in January. And it will be interesting to see if PSG can hijack Barcelona’s move for the World Cup-winning midfielder and convince him to return to his homeland.

The report from SPORT adds that the two European giants have been at odds with each other for quite some time now. And PSG have entered the race for Kante to make things difficult for Barcelona. But recent reports have suggested that Barcelona are edging closer to landing the Chelsea midfielder.

SPORT claims that PSG are currently testing the waters to convince the player of their interest and force him to increase his financial demands. It will be interesting to see if the French champions decide to come forward with a concrete offer for the Chelsea midfielder in the coming weeks.

Meanwhile, Barcelona are waiting to see how Kante recovers from his current injury before making a decision regarding a potential move. The 31-year-old is undoubtedly a top-class player when he is fit, and he could prove to be a quality acquisition for the Catalan club. Barcelona are expected to lose legendary midfielder Sergio Busquets soon, and Kante could be his replacement at the club.

However, the Frenchman has had a number of persistent injury problems in the last few years. And it remains to be seen whether the Chelsea midfielder can get over those issues and get back to his peak form. Whoever between Barcelona and PSG end up signing the 31-year-old on a free transfer will have a bargain on their hands, especially if he can get over his injury problems.
