Arsenal have steered themselves clear at the top with all their midfielders chipping in with useful contributions in their jubilant title run this season. Thomas Partey, Granit Xhaka and Martin Odegaard have been irreplaceable in the midfield. But Mikel Arteta does not want any distraction in his aim and wants an extra pair of feet to provide some competition in the squad.
Arsenal have managed to stay clear of Manchester City in the Premier League title race. But the Gunners have had some occasions in the past where they handed over their advantage to their opponents. The North London giants are pretty determined this time, and the World Cup break could hurt their momentum. So they want to avoid that circumstance at all costs.
