Chelsea and Liverpool are running the rule over Valencia midfielder Yunus Musah who was pretty impressive for the USA in the World Cup.

According to a report in 90 min, Liverpool and Chelsea have been keeping a tab on Valencia’s Yunus Musah and might be interested in a swift move. The youngster has been a pivotal part of the Spanish side in the last couple of seasons.

The ongoing World Cup has brought exposure to a whole lot of players as clubs will be using this platform to identify talents for their future. Musah caught the eye with his tireless efforts in the middle of the pitch and the 20-year-old now will be the subject of severe interest from a host of clubs in the next transfer window.

Surprisingly the youngster did have some experience on English soil having plied his trade for Arsenal academy but he never got the opportunity to peek into the Gunners’ senior team.

He moved to Spain in 2019 and since then has established himself as one of the upcoming talents in the European circuit. Valencia have already initiated new contract talks with the player following his whirlwind World Cup campaign.

He does have a pretty lengthy contract in his hand and the Spanish giants will demand a pretty hefty fee should he leave the club. Chelsea have felt the urge to freshen up the middle of the pitch as their midfield department could be vacated by the likes of Jorginho and N’Golo Kante. Graham Potter will be looking to add a proficient face, and Musah could be that one.

Liverpool have witnessed a similar kind of situation as they signed Arthur from Juventus on the deadline day to amass numbers in midfield but the move hasn’t paid off as the Brazilian has been sidelined with an injury.

Jordan Henderson and Thiago Alcantara have not elevated themselves to that required level, and Jurgen Klopp has been digging deep to find the perfect creative enforcer for his side. Liverpool have also been linked with Jude Bellingham.

Musah could be interested to test English football once again. But it would seem Valencia would be reluctant to leave their prized asset on the transfer market. It will be interesting to see if Liverpool or Chelsea can snap up the midfielder from the La Liga club.
