Aston Villa and West Ham United are reportedly interested in signing Swiss midfielder Djibril Sow from Bundesliga club Eintracht Frankfurt.

According to a report from German outlet Sport1, West Ham United and Aston Villa are keen on signing Djibril Sow in the coming months. Bundesliga club Eintracht Frankfurt value the 25-year-old midfielder at €30 million.

Djibril Sow, who was recently linked with Arsenal and Newcastle Untied, has been a key player for Eintracht Frankfurt in the Bundesliga. And he has also impressed at the 2022 FIFA World Cup with his country. The midfielder has one assist to his name at the World Cup, and he helped his country reach the knockout stages of the tournament.

It is no secret that West Ham could use midfield reinforcements, and the 25-year-old Swiss international could prove to be a quality acquisition for David Moyes. Midfielder Declan Rice has been linked with a move away from West Ham at the end of the season, and Moyes will have to bring in a quality replacement for the England international.

Although Sow is not a defensive midfielder, he could be a smart signing for the Hammers. The 25-year-old is an impressive passer, and he has the ability to drive the team forward and create chances for his side.

Meanwhile, Aston Villa manager Unai Emery is thought to be keen on the player as well. Douglas Luiz was linked with the move away from the club during the summer transfer window. But he has signed a new contract, although he is expected to have interest in him in the upcoming windows as well.

If the Brazilian decides to leave, Aston Villa will need to bring in a quality replacement. Sow could be the ideal partner for John McGinn at the heart of Aston Villa’s midfield. The 25-year-old is entering his peak years, and a move to the Premier League would be the ideal step up in his career right now.

The Eintrach midfielder has all the tools to succeed in English football, and it remains to be seen whether his suitors are willing to pay the asking price for him. According to the report, the Bundesliga club will demand a fee of around €30 million for the midfielder.

There is no doubt that Sow has the potential to justify the outlay. Both Aston Villa and West Ham have ambitious projects, and the player is likely to be tempted to join them if a concrete offer is presented in the near future.
