Arsenal will have to table a ‘crazy bid’ to convince Bayern Munich to sell Leroy Sane, as the Bavarians are likely to keep the winger.

Fabrizio Romano has told Caught Offside that Bayern Munich would only allow Leroy Sane to leave if a ‘crazy bid’ arrives from suitors. Arsenal are linked with a move for the Premier League winner but will find it difficult to sign him during the January transfer window.

Leroy Sane was linked with a move to Arsenal last summer when Mikel Arteta was in the market for a new winger. The Spaniard wanted a high-profile attacker to play in the wide areas. The Bayern Munich star’s profile excited the Arsenal boss, along with that of teammate Serge Gnabry.

Sane did not open up about leaving Bayern for another challenge, but Arsenal’s interest has not waned. Arteta was keen on reuniting with a player he helped develop at Manchester City during his role as Pep Guardiola’s assistant manager.

Fortunately for Arsenal, Gabriel Martinelli’s form changed Arteta’s goalposts in his search for a new wide attacker. The Gunners are now looking at an exciting prospect to enter and go through the developmental phase.

Mykhaylo Mudryk is their preferred target during the January transfer window. The Ukrainian international’s price tag is causing plenty of concerns among those in charge of transfers. While Arsenal’s interest in the Shakhtar Donetsk attacker is evident, the media continues to link Sane with a move to the Emirates.

Since joining them, Sane has performed well for Bayern Munich, and this season he already has ten goals and five assists to his name in all competitions. Those stats make him a key component of Julian Nagelsmann’s team, and there will difficulties convincing Bayern over a deal.

For Sane, Fabrizio Romano insists there are no offers from anywhere, including Arsenal. It will take a ‘crazy bid’ from the Gunners to tempt Bayern into selling the winger. Romano said, “There has been some speculation, but there are no talks between Bayern and Arsenal for Sane as of today. I don’t see Bayern selling Sane in January unless a crazy bid arrives – their plan is to continue with him.”

Sane will be a brilliant acquisition, but his contract lasts until 2025. The Bundesliga giants are likely relaxed about the situation and would not let the Premier League winner leave in January. The summer transfer window could bring a different proposition from interested clubs, including Arsenal. However, as things stand, Sane is not for sale.
