Arsenal have enquired about the possibility of signing Bayern Munich forward Leroy Sane in January.

According to a report in 90min, Arsenal are interested in bringing Leroy Sane back to England as the Gunners are plotting a surprise move for him. Sane moved to Bayern from Manchester City in 2020 and since then has been a pivotal part of the German side.

City’s decision to part ways with Sane came as very surprising as the 26-year-old was tipped to be the next superstar at the Etihad Stadium. City haven’t felt his absence since then as they have had some uninterrupted campaigns.

Sadio Mane’s arrival to the Allianz Arena was bound to curtail his game time as Julian Nagelsmann has drawn up his action plan keeping the former Liverpool forward as his focal point.

Mane has had a smooth start on German soil contributing pretty heavily and it has had a vicious effect on some of the attacking players including Sane who has seen himself falling down in the pecking order.

Despite his limited game time the German winger has excelled in his new role and has contributed with 16 goal contributions so far. Arsenal are keeping a tab on his situation and would want to encash this opportunity.

The Gunners have enjoyed a very productive season so far and the very much on course to their first Premier League title since the departure of Arsene Wenger.

But Mikel Arteta is not satisfied with his current squad depth and would demand a pair of fresh legs in the January transfer window. Sane is not hurrying for a move for the time being but further hindrance could force him to rethink his future.

Capable of playing anywhere across the front three, Sane will definitely suit the possession-based system of the North London giants. Arteta also happens to be Pep Guardiola’s former assistant and he is well-versed in Sane’s ability and a possible reunion could be on the cards.

Bayern already have a pretty well-stocked attacking contingent and they might not have to replace Sane if they do decide to let the player leave for England.
