Manchester United will not renew their interest in Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot in January.

As per givemesport, Manchester United are unlikely to make a move for French midfielder Adrien Rabiot who was on the verge of making a move to Old Trafford in the summer.

The Red Devils had agreed on a fee with Juventus over a possible transfer in the summer but disagreement over his personal terms saw the move foiled. It turned out to be a blessing in disguise as United went on to secure the signing of former Real Madrid midfielder Casemiro who has been an instant hit in Manchester.

Rabiot’s mother who also happens to be his agent demanded exorbitant wages for her son and United surprisingly backed out from the move which wouldn’t have been possible had it not been for the influence of the new manager.

Since being handed the charge of the first team, Erik ten Hag has wanted to make sure everything steers towards the right direction and by baulking at such a decision he has already won a big battle at the club.

Rabiot has seemingly improved his performance since getting robbed of a move and has been a major catalyst in Juventus’ late revival. He has also been the preferred choice of Didier Deschamps and will take the field on Sunday when the defending champions take on Poland in the round of 16.

United are still lurking for an indomitable presence in the midfield and both Declan Rice and Jude Bellingham have been on top of their list. One of them could arrive in the summer and reporter Dean Jones insisted United will not go for Rabiot anymore.

“Is Rabiot still going to be one they pursue?

“I doubt it based on what happened in that moment.

“I think it was kind of something that was there, there and then and it’s probably passed them by now and they’ll probably move on to something else.

“But it is interesting how well Rabiot has done generally, considering what he was considered to be at that moment.”

The Premier League giants will be assessing their situation in the summer and a place in the top four would give them an added advantage while negotiating a deal for either of the aforementioned midfielders.
