Liverpool and Manchester United need to fork out €150 million to secure the services of in-demand English midfielder Jude Bellingham.

A report from Fichajes has claimed that Jude Bellingham will cost €150 million at the end of the season. Liverpool and Manchester United are keen on signing the 19-year-old English midfielder next summer.

The talented England international is widely regarded as one of the best young players in the world. And the likes of Liverpool and Manchester United could certainly use someone of his quality. Both Premier League clubs are currently lacking in the middle of the park, and Bellingham could help transform them.

The 19-year-old is currently the best player at Borussia Dortmund, and it is understandable why they are demanding an absurd amount of money for him.

The English midfielder has already scored nine goals and picked up two assists across all competitions this season, and he will be hoping to finish the season on a high. The player has been linked with Real Madrid as well, and it will be interesting to see where he ends up.

It is fair to assume that a player of his quality and potential will want to join a club that is capable of winning major trophies. Therefore, Liverpool would have to secure Champions League qualification to stand any chance of signing him. The Reds have had a disappointing campaign so far, and they are currently miles off the top four.

The same applies to Manchester United. Although they have more financial resources compared to the Merseyside giants, they have not been at their best for a while. Erik ten Hag will have to ensure a top-four finish in order to lure players like Bellingham.

Liverpool have been reported as long-term admirers of the midfielder, but it is highly unlikely that they have the resources to sign him if the reported asking price remains €150 million.

Jurgen Klopp is in desperate need of reinforcements, and Liverpool need to bring in an upgrade on the likes of Jordan Henderson and James Milner at the end of the season. Both players are past their peak, and the Reds must replace them in order to stay competitive. But Manchester United will likely fancy their chances of beating Liverpool to the English midfielder.
