Tottenham Hotspur and Leeds United reportedly want to sign 26-year-old Spanish international Adama Traore in a Bosman move next year.

According to a report by 90min, Adama Traore is the subject of interest from Leeds United. The Whites want to sign the 26-year-old Spanish international in a Bosman move next summer. And the Wolverhampton Wanderers wide man is also a target for Tottenham Hotspur.

Adama Traore has been an enigmatic figure throughout his professional career. The Spaniard graduated from Barcelona’s famed La Masia academy before moving to England in August 2015. But he was uninspiring during stints with Aston Villa and Middlesbrough before finally finding a stable footing at Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The 26-year-old has been decent enough for Wolverhampton Wanderers, but his output has often left a lot to be desired. And the Spanish international’s tally has been sub-par this season, as he has managed only two goals in 14 appearances. And Traore might leave the Midlands outfit next summer when his contract expires. Such a situation has alerted Tottenham and Leeds United.

The north Londoners hold a long-standing interest in Adama Traore and have tried signing him in the past. And the eagerness to land him remains, with Antonio Conte keen on bringing him to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. That is because the Tottenham manager is disappointed by the performances of Matt Doherty and Emerson Royal.

In addition, Djed Spence is yet to establish a foothold at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and might embark on a loan spell next year. Traore is thus a viable target for Spurs, who want to sign him in a Bosman move next summer instead of securing his services in January. But Tottenham will face stiff competition from Leeds United for the 26-year-old Spanish international.

Leeds United will likely see a squad reshuffle in the 2023 summer transfer window, with several players likely to leave. And Traore is a candidate to bolster the wide spots at Elland Road. And his potential availability as a free agent makes him an attractive target for Leeds.

But Tottenham and Leeds will need to be wary of foreign clubs, who can secure Traore to a pre-contract agreement in January. Meanwhile, Wolverhampton Wanderers want to tie the 26-year-old Spanish international to a new contract. But it will be interesting to see if Tottenham or Leeds can sign him in a Bosman move.
