Manchester United keen on Hakim Ziyech

Manchester United are reportedly interested in Chelsea’s 29-year-old playmaker Hakim Ziyech in January, who is also linked with AC Milan.

According to Sport Witness via Calcio Mercato, Hakim Ziyech emerges as a target for Manchester United. The Premier League giants could view the 29-year-old playmaker in January as a decent signing. However, the primary interest comes from Italy, with AC Milan keen on the Moroccan.

A few good performances for Morocco at the FIFA World Cup may have revived hopes for clubs interested in Hakim Ziyech. The 29-year-old playmaker put in an accomplished performance to help his nation beat Belgium and kept hopes of qualification into the knockout phases alive.

As things stand, Ziyech’s Chelsea career is under considerable doubt, with reports rife about a move away from the team. The January window can’t come fast enough for the 29-year-old playmaker, who would be inching to play regularly elsewhere.

Manchester United are reportedly interested in a deal for Ziyech. The Red Devils are reportedly looking for options that improve their attack. The wantaway Chelsea playmaker is also known to Erik ten Hag from their days at Ajax. Hence the media are reporting him as a possible target.

For now, Manchester United are close to completing a move for Cody Gakpo, who remains their primary target. Ziyech could become a player of interest if the terms are acceptable, although the Red Devils look strong in their attacking setup.

In any case, they are not reportedly serious about the 29-year-old playmaker. AC Milan are the club closely chasing Ziyech for a few months. They wanted him during the summer but could not agree on terms with Chelsea.

The San Siro outfit are back in the running ahead of January and would take him on loan if that is the best possible route. Milan are willing to pay around €15 million, including loan fees, and sign him permanently later.

While Ziyech is itching to leave, he may find solace in the links to Milan than Manchester United. At Old Trafford, his situation may not be different from his current state at Chelsea. Hence a move abroad would make sense, and following the impression in Qatar, other clubs could come into the frame for the playmaker.
